Technical Illustrations
Being able to effectively communicate ideas, instructions or technical illustrations can be vitally important to the success of a project. Often we find these a sticking point in any graphic design project. They will be overlooked or supplied as low resolution examples Googled in the hope they will suffice.
As part of my general graphic design service I will redraw technical illustrations to make them easily understood. This can be from source material taken from online examples, photographic representations or even from competitors products.
Technical illustrations help your visual style
From simple line drawings to product mockups, technical illustrations are a great way to add some style to what can be bland material, such as fitting instructions. They are also a great way to keep the look of the material on brand and consistant with the visual style.
It can be easier than you think to add some illustrations. For many, they provide me with photographs of the product being used or installed. I then take this and produce a set of line drawings which can be used in all future material. They can be repurposed to be used on websites.
It is also possible to use competitors source material. I can take their illustrations and redraw them in a new style consistant with other material.
I’m often supplied with a mixture of photographs and Googled imagery which the client has built which they feel describes the process they want to illustrate. This is not a problem, all material can be turned into something which helps provide the end user with a clear set of instructions.
InfoGraphic Design
Infographic design is a great way to communicate complex message in a clear and digestible way. Using icons and imagery we can design infographics to display patterns and trends making sense of your data. The use of infographics has increased in recent years and is now an established method of connection between businesses and consumers. Infographics allow companies to declare information and guide the audience to understand the statistics which are beneficial and which they feel is relevant. The use of imagery also allows the company to design the infographics to reflect their brand identity.
If you have any graphic design projects that you feel will benefit from the addition of technical illustrations or associated material such as infographics then get in touch. These can make such a difference to the end product and how people identify you as a business which is prepared to go further.
